As we work together to ensure a smooth, efficient, and above all, safe arrival and dismissal process each day, we ask for your full partnership in following our car rider line protocols. The safety of our students, families, and staff depends on every driver staying alert and patient.
Please review the following essential safety rules with anyone who may drop off or pick up your child:
Hands-Free Phone Zone: Cell phone use (including texting, hands-free calls, and browsing) is strictly prohibited while driving in the pickup and drop-off loop. Distractions happen in a fraction of a second, and our top priority must be the children moving around your vehicle.
Respect Crosswalks and Staff Directions: Always yield to pedestrians in designated crosswalks. Please leave space for pedestrians to cross. Do not pull forward until it is safe to proceed before driving through crosswalk areas.
Bus Lane Rules: Buses require extra space and clear visibility. Never pass a school bus that has its stop arm extended or red lights flashing, and keep the designated bus loading zones clear at all times. Please leave space in the afternoons for the buses to exit first.
Buckled Until a Complete Stop: All students must remain properly buckled in their seats—and adults must stay seated as well—until the vehicle has come to a complete stop in the designated loading/unloading area and a staff member directs them to exit or enter. Unbuckling early or hanging out of windows/sunroofs poses a severe safety risk.
We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and commitment to setting a great example for our students. By working together, we can ensure every child arrives and returns home safely each day.

The Online Registration process also known as OLR goes live on our website today July 1st. All students NEW and RETURNING must be registered before they can enroll in Boone County Schools. It only takes a few minutes, just go to your Parent Portal or go to the Boone County Schools website under For Parents, K-12 Enrollments. The deadline for completing your student’s enrollment is August 1st.
